Independence Days From Parents
The St. George Cathedral Youth Committee invites your child, aged four
through twelve, to attend our ORTHO KIDS program on Thursday, July 3
and Friday, July 4, 2008 from 11:00 am- 3:30 PM in our Cathedral Conference
Center located just across the street from the Embassy Suites hotel.
There is no cost for this program.
Children will be supervised by many caring and loving adults. Their safety will be insured by using a single entrance to and from the building. When the parent brings the child to our registration table, the parent and child each will be given a personalized form of identification. When the parent comes back to pick up the child, these forms will be matched again before the child is allowed to leave the building.
We strongly encourage their attendance for the entire program. Its format will be in the style of a vacation Bible school. Children will be divided into different age groups. Because the Parish Life Conference is being held during the Fourth of July weekend, the theme for the program will be “In God We Trust”. Each child will learn Bible stories that teach us about trusting God. They will also learn that during our Divine Liturgy, we pray for our president, civil authorities and armed forces, which ties into our patriotic theme. Throughout the day, the child will have many exciting activities. Some examples are classroom lessons, arts and crafts, gym activities, music, videos, and more that will surely delight your child.
Each day the children will be provided a full lunch and if time allows, a small snack. All we ask from the parent upon arrival is to fill out a simple emergency form for parental contact numbers and a list of food allergies and/or health problems their child may have.
